Reminder that something like this actually exists on our own planet for real
Melibe colemani is a nudibranch that’s basically half transparent. Half PERFECTLY transparent. There’s skin encasing these branching tubes and you just can’t see it. If you look close you’ll see pieces that look like they’re floating separately from the rest.
H.P. Lovecraft was afraid of the ocean just because fish and octopuses were too weird for him and he never even managed to make up anything this dreamlike and confusing
